What is PechaKucha?
PechaKucha is a 20 images x 20 seconds presentation format. Each PechaKucha presentation lasts 6 minutes 40 seconds exactly - no more, no less. Devised by Klein Dytham architecture in Tokyo, it is a popular format for design and architecture presentations. You can learn more about PechaKucha on its official website.
What does 'Powered by PechaKucha' mean?
LLC Blethers is not an official PechaKucha Night, but its presentations will be powered-by the PechaKucha format.
Why use the PechaKucha format?
This rigid format can be useful for structuring and delimiting a presentation. Its short timespan means that you must be concise and creative. It also ensures everyone's presentation is the same length and allows us to fit more presentations into a single panel than typical academic papers allow.
I still don't get it.
Seeing is believing. Check out some fascinating PechaKucha presentations here.
People and Panels
What is the general theme of the evening?
To give this year's presentations the broadest range possible, we've decided on a "You Oughta Know" theme. We welcome your voice at Blethers, no matter your take on academia, university life, current research... you name it!
What are the themes for each panel?
Song titles! To be decided!
All themes are completely open to interpretation, so let your imaginations run free!
